The SP Free Walking Tour is a brazilian company, local business, that was founded in january of 2011, in São Paulo, Brazil, with the purpose to offer tours that gives a historic, touristic, cultural and local overview of the city, in a different, informative, healthy and fun way - for backpackers and opened-mind travelers.
The tours were opened to the public in the beginning of 2012, with the Old Downtown tour (around the historical area of São Paulo) only on Saturdays.

Since the beginning of 2013 the Old Downtown tour started happening also on Wednesdays, and a new tour was created: Paulista Ave tour, around the modern area of the city, on Thursdays and Sundays.

In 2014, the "Old Downtown" tour started happening also on Mondays. And in 2015, we created the "Vila Madalena" tour, to show the local side, with a lot of graffities and street arts. 

In 2016, we expanded our weekly schedule for more options of days and times to explore the city, offering free walking tours more than 10 times a week!

In 2019, with the purpose to offer a better and complete experience in São Paulo, we launched the gastronomic tours - with two different products: one is the São Paulo Food Tour (more food), and the other is the São Paulo Night Tour (more drinks). Paid tours with small groups, visiting three different meaningful places, discovering their menu, eating and drinking, having tastings in each place, and having an unique gastronomic experience!

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, we had to stop offering Free Walking Tours until October 2020, when we could get back again, with all safety, with English and Portuguese tours on weekends.

In the beginning of 2021 we could lauch a new route of Free Walking Tours: the Ibirapuera Park tour - a nice walk discovering all the secrets and details hidden inside the main and most famous park of the city, with a lot of arts and green - that run until beginning of 2024. Due to the increasement of cases and deaths of Coronavirus in Brazil, and a poor management of the pandemic by the Brazilian authorities,  we had to suspend the tours again, from March to June 2021. With a safer situation, we could return with our activities from June 2021, only on weekends initially.

In January 2022 we returned offering Free Walking Tours in English on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays (on Wednesdays from 2023). And we launched a new service of Walking Tours: the Audio Tours - with your phone with internet and a headphone, it´s possible to do the walking tours by yourself. There is available the routes Old Downtown and Paulista Ave in Portuguese and English.

Today we have three distinct walking tours services: in addition to Free Walking Tours, we also have Private Tours and AudioTours.
. Free Walking Tours: on weekends and holidays, in Portuguese and English (and on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in English) - always following the concept of “Collaborative Economy”. So far, more than 125,000 people have participated in our Free Walking Tours!
. Private Tours: the same concept of a walking tour, but only for you. You can choose the route, language, and day and time. The price is defined according to the number of participants, and must be hired three days in advance.
. Audio Tours: DIY. To be done alone, whenever you want. The audio-tour product is purchased online and used via cell phone with internet and a headphone.
