What to do in Pinheiros and Vila Madalena
>> A nice walk on the streets around our Meeting Point,
to get an idea of the hipster style of Pinheiros neighborhood, mainly Rua dos Pinheiros, with many options of restaurants. One block away, walking through Fradique Coutinho St. you will find the unique Brazilian Handcraft store called Paiol (one of the best options to get souveniers and authentic Brazilian art back home).
>> have a tipic local breakfast in a local bakery
very tipic from São Paulo is the famous "Pão na Chapa" (means bread with butter on the hot plate) and "Café Pingado" (means a small glass with hot milk and hot coffee). If you want to eat more, try the popular snacks "Pão de Queijo" (made with cheese) and "Coxinha" (fried, with chicken inside).
Another good option to have, not just for breakfast, but any time, is the tropical fruit called "Açaí" - served cold, purple color, comes with granola and banana - very refreshing!
>> Paulista Ave tour
easy to get from the Ending Point of "Vila Madalena" tour to the Meeting Point of "Paulista Ave" tour by subway (using the yellow line), it takes 20min. Most of the times, our staff can take you there, having time enough to eat something and relax before the next tour!
>> visit Pinheiros Market:
a nice place to have lunch and check it out as the first public market of the neigborhood, with nice options of restaurants. It´s opened from Monday to Sunday, from 6am to 6pm (on Sundays it closes at 3pm).
>> visit Tomie Ohtake Institute:
a cultural center located in a archtecture landmark of the city, where you find permanent and temporary art exibitions. It's opened from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11am to 5pm, and it costs R$12 (free on Tuesdays).
>> Por-do-Sol Square
Very close to our Ending Point, a nice 20min. walk to reach one of the best places to watch the sunset in the city (sunset time: about 17h30 from March to October; about 19h00 from December to February), common to find a "420" atmosphere.
